Bruce Maag works as chief executive officer of the International Phoenix Group, located in Delphos, Ohio. Heavily involved in social work, Bruce Maag belongs to several associations to help him stay up-to-date, one of which is the National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD).
Organized in 1907 by 14 probation officers seeking to create a volunteer organization for those working in probation and parole, the NCCD’s goals are to research and promote best practices and policies in the juvenile justice as well as child welfare. It includes members in the United States and five other countries.
To help reach out to its members scattered across the globe, NCCD hosts an annual conference on children, youth, and families. The 2016 event, scheduled for October 4-6 at the Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove in Garden Grove, California, is entitled “Creating Solutions.” Attendees will hear NCCD staff members, child welfare workers, administrators, and advocates discuss how to improve practices and create change. The event also includes keynote speakers, workshop sessions, and networking opportunities.
